And, mind you, I don't care one way or the other whether your sig stays
or goes; I just don't like pointlessness.Here's my argument: When someone has a desire to express himself, it's usually because he
has a message or some information he wants to communicate to people.
He is trying to connect in some way. If his presentation of his message is off-putting, it defeats its own
purpose. People on a site with mouse-over text are used to quick and immediate
gratification. So, being confronted with a huge block of text that has no
relation to the subject they came to read about, they will ignore it. You might as well have a huge black rectangle the height of all that text
for all the good it does here, except for probably 5% of the people who
actually take the time to read it all. This means your sig is all but 5% pointless: no one is reading it, so your
message isn't getting across, and in fact it's annoying people, so you're
doing the opposite of connecting. I think Guapo's idea is a good one: post it elsewhere and put a link to it.
